(via ARKive) Meet the Kakapo. A large flightless member of the parrot family and a New Zealand native. Poor guys were thought to have been extinct for many years before a small population was found and moved to a new island sanctuary. Invasive species introduced by human visitors almost killed them off. I’m glad we were able to help save them. I’m pretty sure this is, without a doubt, my spirit animal… proof is in the video.
